4th of July Trivia Contest
Since there are very few Independence Day celebrations going on around our country this year, we are going to have a special Trivia Contest on the blog. The first person to answer the following questions will get a free copy of a book, edited by Jon Meacham, which was released on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. The name of the book is In the Hands of the People and is a compilation of essays on citizenship, most of which are written by Thomas Jefferson.
Questions:
Who were the two U.S. Presidents who both died on July the 4th in the same year?
In what year did they die?
How old were both of them?
Hint—They were bitter enemies during their political careers but reconciled and corresponded during their later years.

Although I knew they both died on the 4th of July, I didn’t realize that it was also the 50th anniversary of Independence Day, adding another significant element to the date of their deaths. Wouldn’t it be interesting to have a time machine to go back for a visit?
