Kazuo Ishiguro is a celebrated British author of Japanese heritage. He has won many awards but is probably best known for The Remains of the Day. His latest book, Klara and the Sun, is about an artificial friend named Klara who is for sale in a store. A little girl named Josie convinces her mother to buy Klara so she can have a companion. The relationship between Klara and Josie is the basis for the story. While I have not read the book yet, I can tell that it will stretch the reader’s thought processes while appealing to her sensibilities. In addition, it promises to be a really good story!! And you can decide if the book is utopian or dystopian……..
