I just finished The Gown by Jennifer Robson. Good story line and sympathetic characters. Story takes place in post war England and does involve the wedding gown for Princess Elizabeth.

Paris in the Present Tense, by Mark Helprin. is about a 74 year old man whose parents were murdered by the Nazis at the end of WWII.  He has suffered from survivors guilt all his life.  He is a cellist and music is interwoven throughout.  His beautiful wife has died and she is ever present in his thoughts.  His young grandson has leukemia and he develops a scheme to defraud a multi national insurance company to get the money for his treatment.  And there is so much more…..some really beautiful writing.  Reminds me of A Gentleman in Moscow.
