That is, until the ‘girls’ decide to give her a gift of a DNA test–at age 94! Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. Be prepared for a lot of drama!
Rufi Thorpe’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles, is, according to the New York Times Book Review, “An enormously entertaining and lovable book.” Margo, the heroine, accidently gets pregnant due to an unexpected affair with her English professor. She finds herself dealing with a baby she certainly wanted but hadn’t thought about how she would manage with no job and no prospects of one. What she does to remedy the situation is unexpected, amazing and lots of fun!
Grown Women, by Sarai Johnson, follows four generations of complex mothers and daughters as they experience the ups and downs of life while trying to cope with almost crippling dysfunction and self-reflection. How they each navigate challenging situations proves to be, as the Washington Post put it, “An engaging, character-driven saga.”
