There’s a new biography out on one of my, and most of my family’s, favorite authors — Judy Blume: A Life by Mark Oppenheimer.

It is a really, really deep dive into Judy’s life, her writings, and just what her books have meant/caused during the last 40 years.   

So much detail — you learn a lot about her sex life and her three marriages.   But you also get some fascinating analyses of why she wrote her books, the background on who the characters were based on, and the effect the popularity of her books had on the whole area of Young Adult publications.

Definitely worth the read, although extra time.   It takes some work to get through all the details.
