A blast from Indigo Books

TWO WEBSITES FOR READERS
There is seemingly limitless information about books and authors available on the internet as well as in print media.  I would like to suggest two services that you may not have heard of.
The first is www.shelf-awareness.com.  The website offers information for readers and booksellers alike, from lists of new releases, prize winner announcements, interviews with authors, and articles of more general interest.  I receive a daily e-newsletter from them that also carries news from the book trade industry.  Visit the website to see what’s new in the book world and to sign up for a biweekly newsletter that lists and briefly reviews 25 noteworthy new releases.
If you are a mystery maven, then you need to know about www.stopyourekillingme.com.  The site offers much the same kind of information as the Shelf Awareness site, but tailored to the world of mysteries.  There’s a LOT of information about mysteries and their authors on the site (easy to navigate) and you can also sign up for their biweekly e-newsletter that offers a few reviews, new releases, new characters or series, and all the prize winners.
We use both of these resources at Indigo and have recommended them to several customers–especially people looking for new authors or series while they await future releases from their favorites.  Take a look.  It’s an easy way to scan a lot of book news in a short time.
