A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth

Perhaps you have learned a great deal about late Queen Elizabeth from the coverage of her funeral activities. If not, I have listed some books that might be worth looking at. She certainly lived a long and interesting life! Below are photos I found of the Queen reading. Everyone who ever worked with her reports on how aware she was of the topic of discussion or the challenge to be dealt with. She did her homework for sure, which included quite a bit of reading!!

Princess stories … the young Elizabeth reading in 1946.

A few books about Queen Elizabeth II as reported in the September8, 2022 issue of the New York Times.

Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch, Sally Bedell (A review by Elisabeth Egan reports that this biography is thorough but a bit dull.)

The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor–the Truth and the Turmoil, Tina Brown (A review by Sadie Stein calls the book “acerbically funny, compassionate, and fully sourced”)

All the Queen’s Corgis: The Story of Elizabeth II and Her Most Faithful Companions, Penny Junor (Sadie Stein write about the Queen’s ‘hands-on’ affection for her pets)
