Nostalgic For The Nineties?

The 90’s were probably the happiest decade of my life. One of my daughters got married and another one graduated college. My husband and I celebrated our first AND our second grandchild. I worked harder during the nineties than I had ever worked before. I don’t remember ever being idle or having a difficult time falling asleep. The Olympics came to Atlanta, GA and I got a computer!!

Sad things happened then, too, of course. Sad things Columbine and the Oklahoma City bombings. Also, my father died in 1990.

Wild things happened, such as Germany reuniting and a World Wide Web emerging.

If you need to have your memory jogged about the 90’s, this book by Chuck Klosterman, noted New York Times journalist and prolific author, will do that. Klosterman analyses the historical trends and the pop culture of the 1990’s. Most critics have panned the book, not only for the mundane writing but also for the lackadaisical manner in which Kosterman tackles the era. But for readers who just like to reexamine the past, nostalgically or not, this book will entertain.
