Summer Beach Reads
It seems that all forms of media, from the NYT to NPR, are suggesting books for people to read this summer. Such books are often referred to as ‘beach reads.’ Of course, I do not have the time nor the interest to read everything that is recommended, so I have developed a scientific system of deciding which books to list. IF the book has the word ‘beach’ or ‘summer’ in the title, it’s on my list. So, take a look at the following titles (along with reader reviews from Goodreads) and decide if you would like to try some while you are sitting around the pool, sunning at the beach or just relaxing on your porch.
Summer Love, Nancy Thayer “Such an enjoyable read to start the summer off. Makes me want to return to Nantucket! Such a great friendship that lasted decades between 4 friends.”
Every Summer After, Carley Fortune “This is my favorite book of all time. I’ve been crying for the past 20 minutes.” Is this person for real, I’m asking????
My Summer Darlings, May Cobb “Although this was not the type of beach read I was anticipating, it would still be a terrific poolside romp, and I promise you will never get bored!”
One Italian Summer: A Novel, Rebecca Serle “Oh my goodness, Rebecca Serle has once again pulled at the heartstrings. It was wonderful, and I didn’t want it to be over.”
Beach House Summer, Sarah Morgan “This is a fabulous story that kept me turning the pages until 4 am.”
The Narrowboat Summer, Anne Youngson “This is the feel good story I was looking for.”
