More Reader Responses

I hope you enjoyed seeing what blog followers are reading, have read and are going to read. After canvassing a few more friends, I began to see a trend. Many people have thoroughly enjoyed Lincoln Highway. No surprise there. Other very popular books are Horse and Demon Copperhead. I could be wrong here, but I think we ‘Southern girls’ may be more interested in Barbara Kingsolver than people from, you know, NOT the South.

Some different books popped up from the new contributors so I’ll mention a few.

Barbara Moffit, a member in good standing of the Old Book Bags, is reading Malcolm Gladwell’s Talking to Strangers. Gladwell is always coming up with something different.

Betsy Burke, Kiawah’s best known bibliophile, is reading Celeste Ng’s book Our Missing Hearts. Betsy reports that the book is about extreme government control. I guess this image means that the book will become a movie soon!

Maggie Boone, friend from Marietta and member of a very bookish book club, is ‘slogging through’ 1493 by Thomas C. Mann.

And finally, a Cleveland, TN blog reader is reading Stephen King’s Fairy Tale. Susan’s book club always has snacks that reflect the setting of the book. I wonder what they will serve from the parallel world that the book’s teenage hero unlocks.
