Want to Improve Yourself in 2024?
HarperCollinsPublishers recommends several books for self-improvement in the new year. After reading about these books, I have picked three that you might want to consder.
njuta: The Swedish Art of Savoring the Moment by Niki Brantmark is a book that celebrates Swedish culture. The word ‘njuta’ means ‘enjoy’ or ‘delight in.’ This principal, as explained in the book, is a way to find happiness in ordinary daily things such as meal time, nature walks and celebrations with friends. I know of noone who does not want to maximize joy in their lives!
The 5 Resets by Aditi Nerurkar, MD offers five strategies for obtaining a healthy level of stress in our lives. Dr. Nerurkar reminds readers that stress is a normal biological state that can motivate and energize people. If a person is overwhelmed because they try to multitask or don’t sleep well or are going through a life-changing event, stress can become crippling. With her five strategies, the author suggests simple mindset shifts to control stress.
ADHD for Smart Ass Women by Tracy Otsuka celebrates neurodivergence. Otsuka claims that many women with ADHD remain undiagnosed in society and are oftentimes considered a little ‘strange’ or unproductive. The author, who is an ADHS lifecoach, recommends strategies that enhance the many positive traits these women have so that they can realize their full potential. (this book has come out too late for me, but maybe you know someone who can use it!!)
